The Digital Intelligence Governance Team meets on a monthly basis to discuss issues and updates to Emerson.com and approved sites, with a focus on SEO, internal search and internal tagging to understand site data, performance and customer behavior. A team of digital marketers and technologists representing Corporate, Automation Solutions and Commercial & Residential Solutions all participate and help bring forth requests and questions from within their organizations. Issues prioritized by this body are presented monthly to the Emerson.com Governance Team.

You can request a new Vanity URL following the identified process. Before you submit your request, please review the Redirect Requests documentation

All tags fire based on events. Anytime an event is registered by Google Tag Manager, event triggers are evaluated and tags are fired accordingly. An event can be a pageview, a click on a button, a form submission, or any custom event that you define. These trigger types are available in Tag Manager, and should inform whether or not you need a tag and what should/could be tagged:

Please submit an Emerson Digital Governance request with the details of what you would like to A/B test. The Digital Intelligence Governance Team can provide guidance around best practices for your test. Your test will be run using the VWO tool for A/B tests.
The establishment of a new subdomain is governed by the Emerson.com Governance Team in coordination with the Digital Intelligence and Content Governance Teams. Please reference the Subdomains Guidance document for creating and establishing a subdomain on Emerson.com. This is for using an emerson.com subdomain for an edge app or third-party site that you want to mask as emerson.com. For adding a new site subdomain for emerson.com in CoreMedia and HCL Commerce, that request must be submitted to the Digital Advisory Board.

Anyone visiting the primary emerson.com domain can be tracked regardless of the country of origin the session is coming from. Additionally, for country-specific locales, such as emerson.cn in China, as long as the GA code is deployed on that website, visitor and site engagement analytics can still be collected.

Emerson Page Speed Performance Benchmarking - Page speed is a critical factor in a user’s experience on the websiteand also factors in to search rankings. It has been a focus for continual improvement by the Digital Intelligence Governance team to meet established benchmarking goals.
Google PageSpeed Insights - Site performance is becoming a bigger factor in Google’s algorithm. Google PageSpeed Insights provides a performance report for both desktop and mobile variations, along with suggestions on how to improve page performance.
Qualtrics - A voice of customer tool utilized to capture onsite survey results requesting feedback from users of our site.Currently there is a survey in place for customer experience within the Corporate pages of Emerson.com, as well as individual Automation Solutions and Commercial & Residential Solutions surveys deployed and managed by the individual platforms.
Visual Web Optimizer (VWO) - A web-based tool that records and aggregates user session and content engagement, including session recordings, A/B testing, heatmaps, click maps and scroll maps.
Conductor - Conductor is Emerson’s official enterprise SEO tool and includes a Keyword Research tool, which provides Monthly Search Volume data and can be customized by country and by search engine.
Google Search Console - GSC provides foundational site information and keywords that are driving the most organic traffic to our site. Key data includes Total Clicks, Total Impressions, Average CTR, and Average Position.
Screaming Frog - ScreamingFrog is a website crawler that captures key SEO elements of a page’s content, including discovery of broken links, analysis of Page Meta Data, locating Duplicate Content andaudit of redirects. Digitas manages the usage of Screaming Frog.
Deep Crawl - a comprehensive cloud-based website crawler that can perform detailed site analysis, research on-page issues and diagnose your site's health. Deep crawl provides an aggregate view of issues that Screaming Frog does not. Deep Crawl is a paid cloud-based application and is provided as part of our Conductor Searchlight contract. Given limited allocation of URLs, please contact Digital Intelligence for any specific crawl requests, such as a report for a specific set of category pages.
Ahrefs - Ahrefs.com is a browser-based tool that provides domain and page level backlink analysis, including page performance data, top referring domains and competitive data.
