There are two available components to show news headlines on your pages. You can choose specific articles to display or use tags to select articles dynamically. For nearly all uses you have the C009 available. This is a three across component. A component built specifically for the homepage is C009b and can show up to 6 headlines.
This is the primary component for showing news and events on your CoreMedia pages. Detailed instructions can be found in the Content Authors' Guide. This component is built from a specific CoreMedia Document type called a Query List. Although this component can be used with any teasable content (page, news teaser, external link, video, etc.) it should not be used for other purposes unless specifically approved by governance in your platform.
As noted, you can specifically curate content for this component or you can allow the system to choose content based on criteria in the query list. This allows you to select content that will be useful to visitors of the page by being focused on the product, brand, industry or other facet you choose.
This component pulls content only from the locale you are working in. If there are a limited number of news and events, there may not be many results to display.
While this component can display more than 3 items, it was intended to be only a single row. There is a link that should be added on the upper right of the component to allow the user to "see more" news and events. This takes you to the News & Events page and can be prefiltered by platform or other facet available on the News & Events results.
Very similar to the C009, the C009b has a different design that allows for up to 6 articles to be displayed. While the C009 allows for images, the C009b is text only. The C009b does allow for a background image to show behind the component, giving an underlay effect.
This component was designed for the homepage, but could be used in other situations. Review this with your platform governance for approval before using this component on you page.
This component also allows for authors to curate specific content or dynamically show content based on query parameters for content (CoreMedia Document) types and tags for facets.
The SearchConfiguration Settings file has the required settings to allow the C009 and C009b components to function as well as the News & Events page itself. If a change is needed - such as for a new facet - you may edit this file with the updates. Below are the current settings as of November 2019. The SearchConfiguration Settings file is specific to each locale and every Settings file must be updated if you want the change to appear in all locales.

The Bundle file Emerson_enAsResourceBundle is where you enter all properties and values that need to be used in the News & Events page, C009 Latest News and C009b Latest News. These are the labels that appear in these pages and components. They are in the bundle because they are referenced as a variable by CoreMedia and they must have a corresponding value to display. If that value is not in the bundle, the system will display the property variable (or nothing at all). The values in the bundle also allow for the text to be translated to local language as needed in some locales. If a change is needed - such as a new tag for a facet - you may edit this file with the updates. Below are the current properties and values as of November 2019. The Emerson_enAsResourceBundle file is specific to each locale and every Bundle file must be updated if you want the change to appear in all locales.
All of the required bundle entry labels are shown below. Selected examples for the filter tags are also shown for illustration. Any new tags added for one of the defined facets must be added to the bundle for all locales. The Values will be translated for each locale that needs local language as the bundle file is unique to each locale.
