Roxar™ Downhole Network Controller (DHNC)

Product Description

The Downhole Network Controller (DHNC) acts as an interface to provide two-way communication between the downhole instrumentation and the operators interface via the Tubing Encapsulated Cable (TEC). The DHNC can run every downhole tool in the Roxar catalog and communicates on all standard industry interfaces. Roxar also provides a range of Surface Acquistion Units (SAU) or Subsea Canisters (DIU) that allow the DHNC to be installed on topside or subsea based field infrastructure. Since its release in 2006, thousands of DHNC have been installed subsea following successful Q2 qualification by all the major EPC companies. It has proven to be a superb, reliable controller with an exceptional track record in operation and service.

  • The DHNC is designed to support Roxar's Integrated Downhole Network (IDN) by taking the role as the main power and communication hub. The DHNC acts as an interface with operator and third-party infrastructures.
  • The DHNC is compliant with the Intelligent Well Interface Standard (IWIS) and fully compliant with API 17F.
  • The Integrated Downhole Network (IDN) allows any combination of tools in our downhole portfolio to be operated on one cable. All elements of the reservoir’s monitoring infrastructure are linked together, providing the operator with complete flexibility and the choice of selecting from a range of different sensors.
  • Using the DHNC, Roxar can upgrade the software in both the controller and the downhole tools while they're installed in the field.
  • The DHNC can support all current and previous generations of Roxar’s downhole portfolio.
  • The DHNC can be installed topside or subsea with no design changes. Roxar offers SAU and DIU appropriate for every environment and field infrastructure. This includes single or multi-well solutions, explosion proof, weather-proof, or safe area enclosures.
  • Each DHNC is temperature, shock, and vibration quality tested according to the relevant ESS or API standard before leaving the shop.
