Roxar-Downhole Cables

Roxar™ Downhole Cables

Product Description

A wide array of Tubing Encased Conductors (TEC) is available, specifically engineered to address the harsh environmental challenges associated with downhole conditions. These cables facilitate power transmission and enable two-way communication between the Downhole Network Controller (DHNC) and the well’s downhole instruments. The selection includes single conductor cables, dual conductor cables, bumper cables, and flatpacks. Our engineers work closely with customers to optimize component selection, considering factors such as tubing alloy characteristics, wall thickness, and encapsulation materials to meet specific well parameters.

Features

  • The welded stainless steel and nickel alloy tubing provides superior conductor protection from physical and chemical impact.
  • The metallurgy and wall thickness of the protective tubing is determined based on well conditions, such as pressure, temperature, and chemical resistance to the well media.
  • The completed tubing is cased in encapsulation material selected for resistivity to temperature and well media to provide additional protection to the tubing encased cable.
  • Combination flatpacks are frequently designed, produced, and delivered to incorporate hydraulic lines as needed, providing complete solutions that optimize installation time. This results in fewer spooler units on deck, enhancing safety and efficiency.
  • An additional standard galvanized steel bumper can be added to flatpack configurations to further increase crush resistance.
  • Each cable is tested electrically before transportation to the well site.
